"A well-maintained garden is built on
consistency, knowledge and genuine care."

Whether George-Stone Gardens built it last year or it's been established for decades, a garden never really stops changing. For clients who complete a project with George-Stone Gardens, we recommend taking up the 24-month establishment maintenance contract: the same integrated team stays on through both growing seasons, maintaining the garden so the planting establishes as intended, already knowing its soil, its microclimate, and the reasoning behind every planting decision.

Many of the gardens on our maintenance rota were designed and planted by someone else, often years before we arrived. The same standard of professional garden maintenance applies regardless of who designed and built it.

A garden that gets the right work at the right time of year holds its shape; left too long between visits, even a well-designed garden starts to drift, its borders, lawn, and hedges pulling in different directions rather than working as one scheme. Regular garden maintenance is what keeps that from happening, rather than letting the work pile up between visits.

What We Cover

A Complete Range of Garden Maintenance Services

From weekly lawn mowing to commercial grounds contracts, the gardening services below cover what a well-kept garden actually needs across a full year, not a fixed checklist repeated on every visit regardless of season. The aim throughout is consistent quality, delivered on a regular basis rather than left to catch up whenever there's time.

General garden maintenance by George-Stone Gardens

The Foundation

General Gardening

Pruning, weeding, deadheading and general tidying keep a garden looking cared for rather than simply tidy for a day, scheduled around what that particular month needs rather than a routine repeated all year without variation. Regular deadheading through summer keeps flowering borders blooming for longer, and small jobs handled on a regular basis stop them turning into hard work later in the season. Leaving some seed heads and looser hedge growth over winter can do more for the environment than cutting everything back hard.

Professional Lawn Care

A lawn is usually the single biggest influence on how a garden feels overall, so the three areas below are treated as one connected job rather than separate tasks.

How We Work

Flexible Maintenance
That Fits Around You

What a maintenance plan looks like on the ground varies from one garden to the next. Every gardener works from the same standard, arrives with the tools and equipment the job needs, and reports back honestly on what's been done and what's coming up next.

01

Continuing Care Through and After Establishment

A maintenance contract is how the 24-month establishment period is delivered, and it can continue for as long as it's needed afterwards, with the same team that built the garden staying on. Nothing needs re-explaining, since we already know what was planted and why. That continuity is often what keeps a garden's design from slowly drifting.

02

Regular Contracts

Weekly, fortnightly, or monthly visits, set up around what the garden and the season actually require rather than a fixed schedule that can't flex. The workload adjusts as the year moves through it, and the commitment runs for as long as it continues to suit the garden and the household.

03

One-Off and Seasonal Work

Not every garden needs a standing contract. A single hedge cut, a pre-season tidy, or a specific seasonal job can be booked as needed, assessed honestly on site with a fixed price agreed before work starts, and carried out efficiently to the schedule that's been agreed.

04

Planting Plans and Border Rejuvenation

Tired or overgrown borders get a fresh planting scheme designed for the site's actual conditions rather than a generic palette, with seasonal planting chosen to suit the soil and light available rather than what happens to be in stock. Sourcing, planting, and the follow-up care needed to establish healthy growth are handled within the same visit programme.

05

Commercial and Developer Contracts

Letting agents, developers, and business premises across Gloucestershire are maintained to the same standard as residential gardens, with the reporting and reliability a professional client expects. Multiple properties can be scheduled and reported on together, so there's one point of contact rather than several. End-of-tenancy tidy-ups and one-off commercial clearances are available separately from an ongoing contract.
