Weed Membrane Systems
Weed membranes, when installed correctly, provide a long-lasting barrier against weed growth in borders and under decorative surfaces. We lay a breathable, high-quality membrane directly over prepared soil, cutting around existing plants before covering with your chosen topping.
Bark chippings and decorative gravel are the most popular choices. Both suppress weeds effectively, retain moisture, and give borders a neat, finished appearance. We carry out the full installation — ground preparation, membrane laying, and topping — leaving you with a low-maintenance bed.
Decorative Gravel, Bark & Active Treatments
Where membranes are not appropriate — around mature trees, in cottage-style borders, or on hard standing — we use a combination of hand weeding and targeted chemical treatments to keep weeds at bay. Our team is trained in the safe, responsible use of herbicides and always works with the minimum effective dose.
Decorative gravel paths and driveways benefit particularly from periodic weedkiller application, keeping the surface clean and reducing the physical labour of hand weeding. We can include this as part of a regular maintenance visit or as a standalone treatment.
