Lawn Care & Treatments

A truly healthy, lush lawn requires a programme of treatments beyond regular mowing. Moss, weeds, thatch and nutrient depletion are all common problems that mowing alone cannot solve — but with the right care at the right time of year, they are all entirely manageable.

Healthy lawns need more than just mowing.

A truly healthy, lush lawn requires a programme of treatments beyond regular mowing. Moss, weeds, thatch and nutrient depletion are all common problems that mowing alone cannot solve — but with the right care at the right time of year, they are all entirely manageable.

We offer tailored annual lawn care programmes covering fertilisation, moss and weed control, scarification and aeration. Each programme is designed around your lawn's specific condition, size and aspect, giving it the best possible chance to thrive.

Fertilisation & Nutrition

Fertilisation & Nutrition

Grass is a crop, and like any crop it requires regular feeding to stay healthy and green. We apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring to kick-start growth, followed by a summer feed to maintain colour and vigour, and an autumn/winter hardener to strengthen roots against the colder months.

Getting the timing and balance of feeds right is crucial — too much nitrogen in autumn encourages soft, disease-prone growth, while too little in spring results in a pale, thin sward. Our team follows best-practice guidelines for each application.

Moss Control & Treatment

Moss Control & Treatment

Moss thrives in lawns that are shaded, poorly drained, excessively acidic or undernourished. We treat moss with a professional-grade ferrous sulphate application, which blackens and kills it within days. The dead moss is then scarified out, removing the thatch layer that has been harbouring it.

Simply killing moss without addressing the underlying causes will result in it returning within a season. We always advise on improving drainage, correcting soil pH with lime, and adjusting mowing heights to reduce the conditions that allow moss to establish.

Weed Control & Annual Programmes

Weed Control & Annual Programmes

Lawn weeds such as daisies, dandelions, plantain and buttercups are best treated with a selective weedkiller that targets broadleaved plants while leaving grass unharmed. Timing is important — treatments are most effective when weeds are actively growing in spring and early autumn.

Our annual lawn care programmes typically include a spring feed and weed treatment, a summer top-up, an autumn scarification and moss treatment, and a winter hardener feed. We can tailor these to your lawn's individual needs and work around any seeded or newly turfed areas.
