The risk we remove

Most people spend more on a garden than on a car — yet can only picture it from a flat plan they can’t read.

We remove the risk. You approve your garden in a moving flythrough and see it in photoreal renders before any ground is broken.

A garden you can see, approve and price before we break ground. Every design draws on over a decade of specialist landscape construction and hundreds of completed gardens. You sign off the layout in motion, see the key views in photoreal detail, and have complete visibility of the build — billed open-book, with full clarity at every stage.

The process

Four stages. No guesswork.

  1. Aerial drone survey of a garden before design work begins
    Aerial site survey

    Capture

Our own LiDAR and drone survey records your plot exactly as it is. Where a project needs survey-grade terrestrial control, we bring in a chartered surveyor with their Leica equipment.

  2. Aerial view of a complete garden design model: stone house, lawns, parterre, fire-pit court and clipped hedging seen from above

    Design

Your garden is designed as a full Vectorworks Landmark model — levels, structures, surfaces and planting, built around how you actually live.

  3. Still from a design flythrough: walled garden terrace with outdoor kitchen, dining table and lavender borders
    Flythrough for sign-off

    Sign-off flythrough

You approve the layout and design by watching a flythrough of the model — your garden in motion, before any ground is broken.

  4. Photoreal hero render of a gravel driveway framed by a blossoming cherry tree and clipped planting mounds

Once you have signed off, we produce photoreal renders of the key views — the images your finished garden will be measured against.

The design service

What the design phase gives you

  • Concept & design intent

The thinking behind the garden — how it relates to the house, the light, and the way you live.

  • Vectorworks model

Your full garden as a Vectorworks Landmark model: levels, structures, surfaces and planting.

  • Sign-off flythrough

A flythrough of the model so you approve the layout and design in motion, before the build.

  • Hero renders

Photoreal stills of the key views, produced once you have signed off.

  • Outline specification

The materials and planting palette your garden is designed around.

Construction information — setting-out, levels, drainage and full specifications — belongs to the build phase, not design. The design phase gives you a garden you can see, approve and price with confidence.

Your team

The people behind the garden

Our team’s credentials span show gardens, royal estates and hundreds of private commissions across the Cotswolds.

  • Ian Stone

    Director

Your main point of contact. Ian led the team to Gold at RHS Tatton Park with months of pre-planning — the same preparation and commitment to excellence behind every George-Stone garden. The show garden was featured on BBC Gardeners’ World, a reflection of the construction quality delivered on every project.

  • Kirsty Stone

    Operations Director

Deep construction experience and local connections. Kirsty manages scheduling, supplier coordination, cost reporting and programme delivery — and excels at selecting the right suppliers and materials for each project’s needs and budget.

  • Callum

    RHS Gold Medal Principal Landscaper

Callum has worked in every role in George-Stone’s operations and has deep knowledge of what it takes to execute landscaping at the highest level. His RHS Gold Medal was awarded for achieving what the judges described as “a near faultless construction.”

  • Laura

    Principal Garden Designer

Laura’s training began at the Royal Gardens at Highgrove under some of the country’s foremost horticulturalists. She honed her skills on private estates throughout the Cotswolds and with the National Trust, before studying under Robin Templar-Williams — a five-time RHS Gold Medallist. Her designs are well-considered, balanced and ecologically mindful.

  • Gareth

    RHS Gold Landscape Consultant

Over 30 years’ experience and a permanent consultant and mentor to the George-Stone teams. Seven RHS Gold Medals, 14 Best in Show and over 30 RHS medals in total. A key figure in the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, BALI and the Garden Media Guild.
