Wire Balustrading
Current safety regulations state that for any drop in height over 600mm around a patio or decked area, a safety barrier must be erected to prevent falls. The top rail is usually between 900–1100mm above the structure. Where children under five will be using the area, the gaps between wires must be no wider than 100mm.

Once installed, a wire balustrade system really enhances your garden — retaining an airy, open feel without obstructing the view, while ensuring everyone on your property can enjoy themselves safely.

Materials & Options
There are a variety of methods and materials available for wire balustrade systems. The most premium option uses stainless steel posts and tensioned wires — a very contemporary look that suits modern garden designs particularly well.
For those who find full stainless steel a little clinical, wooden posts with stainless wire infill offer a softer result that integrates well with timber decking and more naturalistic planting schemes. The wire itself is tensioned to meet safety requirements while maintaining a clean, taut appearance.
Installation & Regulation
We install wire balustrade systems to comply with current building regulations for private residential gardens. Post spacing, wire tension and top rail height are all specified to the relevant standards — giving you confidence as well as a beautiful finish.
Glass panel alternatives are also available for locations where maximum light transmission and an unobstructed view are the priority. We can advise on the most appropriate system for your site during a free initial consultation.
