1. Initial consultation

The initial consultation is a genuine discovery conversation. We begin by understanding your property, your lifestyle, and what you are hoping to create. We assess aspect, topography, sun and shade, microclimate, soil type, and drainage patterns. We talk about how you actually use your outdoor space and what it would mean to use it differently. The best time to start most landscaping projects is spring or early autumn, when soil conditions support both groundwork and planting.

2. Concept and Master Plan

From the site survey and discovery conversation, we develop a concept design and then a detailed Master Plan: your visual and strategic blueprint. Layout, materials palette, levels, planting areas, drainage, and structure are all resolved at this stage. Design packages are refined collaboratively until the design feels right. We consider scale and proportion carefully. The size of every element is kept proportional to the house and plot. Zoning breaks the space into distinct areas with intentional pathways, ensuring every part of the garden serves a purpose.

3. Construction

Our in-house construction team builds your garden to the same standards we hold on show garden projects. The same people who worked through the design with you are on site. Levels are checked by those who drew them. Materials come from local suppliers whose output we know well. Hard landscaping works, patios, paths, walls, steps, fencing, and structural elements are completed before soft landscaping begins, allowing the soil to settle and drainage to function as designed.

4. Planting and establishment

Plants are installed by our horticultural team following detailed planting schemes developed alongside the construction phase. We layer planting in three tiers: background structure provided by trees and tall shrubs, mid-height plants that carry seasonal interest, and low ground cover that completes the composition and suppresses weed growth. We can then guide your garden through two full growing seasons, ensuring it matures as designed and intervening where anything needs attention.

Recent Project: Grade II Listed Manor, Tewkesbury

The property had been planned as a boutique hotel—complete with resin-bound car parking covering what should have been a garden. Removing 300 tonnes of material. Engineering curved limestone steps through complex topography whilst meeting heritage listing requirements. Creating formal parterre gardens that work with Georgian architecture whilst supporting how the family actually lives.

That project took 18 months because it needed to. Structural engineering for retaining walls. Planning approval processes. Planting windows that couldn't be rushed. The alternative would have been something finished sooner but failing within years.

We limit capacity to 20 garden transformations annually to ensure project timelines aren't compressed and quality suffers.
